I am terribly offended. All of these jarheads and squids talking about their tartans. Everyone knows the Army tartan is the best. Now, if I saw someone wearing the Army tartan, I would wonder if he ever served, but I would not be offended it it was worn with respect.
Hey, we all are brothers and sisters at arms. I salute each and every person who has ever served.

I am the only Sims male who never served in the Military. I am ashamed to admit it. But it certainly was not for want of trying. Master Gunnery Seargent "Top" Odom personally drove me to the U.S.M.C. Induction centre. Because I had severe bleeding ulcers at age 12, I was exempt from Military Duty. I have tried them ALL. I even tried Last year when the U.S. Army said they were taking 4o year olds. Gout stopped that.
My Father: PFC. T. M. Sims, 3rd Army, Served with Gen. G.S. Patton WWII, Bronze Star, Purple Heart. Brother: Admiral T.M. Sims Jr. U.S. Navy, Ret. Uncles were Army-Air Corps, and Marines. A long and proud heritage that I am unable to share in. I would never do anything to dishonour any Uniform.
I would have done anything to have been able to serve my country. That's why I support the Troops FULLY! Especially my beloved Corps! Semper Fi!

Just another note to add. You don't have to wear a uniform to serve your country, or even to serve the military. I did serve on active duty for three years, and the reserves for another two (during Desert Storm). However, I have also served as an Army civilian for eighteen years now. The military can't do their job without the dedicated civilians in the rear. If you really want to do something, you could always check out that route.

My Father landed on Omaha Beach with the 29th Div(wounded)
My oldest Brother flew bombers over Korea
another Brother served in the Cold War Army
I served with the 1st Cav. in Vietnam (wounded twice)
I know that an U.S.Army Tartan kilt is somewhere in my future
My two sons have chosen not to serve in the military, which is fine by Me.
Even if they haven't served I would still feel very honored if they chose to wear an U.S. Army kilt in reconition of the family service to our country
I think that anyone that did serve would also feel that way if you wanted to wear a military tartan to honor them.

DAV Donation
Mr. Sim,
if you want a USMC kilt, just buy the DAMN thing.
another alternative would be to donate a tax deductible donation to the Disabled American Veterans org. i'm a life member and usually donate online once a month. you don't need to be a member to donate.
if you wish to show your respect to past, present and future veterans, they would greatly welcome your donation.

Beuth Sim,
I started my Army career in 1983, I have served in Combat Operations in Panama, Gulf War 1, Somalia,Iraq (3times) Afghanistan (1), I have 2 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. I think it is just fine for you to wear any service's tartan. Those of us in uniform know that all can't always serve and are sometimes just grateful for your support. So support the branch of your choice by wearing the Tartan.!!! CelticRanger66
PS PM me your measurements and The Army will see about helping you get your Tartan.!!
