I've never met either of you gents in real life, but in my minds eye I picture Ron as tall as you.
I'm only about 5'7" so I'm wondering if a Still water would be way to long for me??
I guessing too that overall height may not be as much of a factor as leg length.

Geez, I'm like 5'10" and the Stillwaters fit me fine...I was worried about the length too but I guess that 24" is the magic length. I assume, though, that the way that one is built has a lot to do with the fit...I go from a 36 waist to a 40 seat and the top of a Stillwater sits at about 2" above my navel.

Somebody out there has got to have had one successfully hemmed...perhaps we can hear from them. I don't think that hemming a SW standard would be such a travesty...you lose the selvedge but it would fit...what's the harm in that?

And I agree with so may of you...great way to get started and see if a kilt is for you. When I first hit the internet looking for a kilt I was seriously put off by the prices...then I found Xsmarks and, through it, discovered Stillwater and USAK where one could get a respectable kilt for a somewhat more reasonable price.
