    $3.73... 1 yard naugahide (%50 off!)
    $4.12... #9 brass upholstery nails, #10 blued 5/8" tacks

    Nicely done! And the price is right. Could you explain to my wife why I keep all of the extra left over hardware and such in the basement instead of throwing it out...she doesn't get the concept that I might need it some day.

    Do you plan to hang this one on the wall or do you intend to carry it as part of your kilted kit?

    Nicely done! And the price is right. Could you explain to my wife why I keep all of the extra left over hardware and such in the basement instead of throwing it out...she doesn't get the concept that I might need it some day.
    My current project's a dirk; the pommel will be a brass disc, with the end of the tang peened over a square nut. After some rummaging around in the nut-and-bolt bin, a blued steel square (not octagonal) nut! No idea where it came from, but I know where it's going.

    The only difference between a packrat and a crow is that crow's go in for shiny, glittery things...

    Mostly a wall-hanger. On rare occasions I pipe Renaissance-themed weddings, in which case I'll wear it with a great kilt and basket-hilt sword on a baldric (which I also made). Actually, it made it's debut at an SCA wedding on Saturday. I'm hoping the happy couple will email me some pics.
