    So beautiful. The work-woman-ship is so amazing (even down to that little shorter pleat thingy). Love the color combination. Wear it with pride and happiness.

    The "short pleat thingy" is a turned up pleat, which is done so that it doesn't hang from under the front apron of the kilt. It is one of those touches that makes a good kilt into a great looking one.

    It is also covered in Barb's book.

    I knew that, just couldn't find the right name for it in Barb's book...shoulda kept looking.

    And, I think its kilt #50 for me. Certainly more than enough...except I had to go and order the Army tartan and the Saffron in semi-trads from Rocky...

    Great photos, Ron. I love the Isle of Skye tartan.

    I've never been a fan of apron fringe, but for some reason I really like the look of that double fringe. What a fine touch...elevates craft to art.
