I like them all. Though Cloves tan stripe is really nice.

I need a tileable pic so I can print out a full sheet to play with (I want to see what actually pleating it different way looks like, not just on the computer), but the only examples I have found are real shots of the tartan, and I can't get it to tile right. Additionally, all the examples I have seen are shots of a wool swatch, except for the example on the Sport Kilt site.

What does SK make their kilts out of PV or acrylic? If the PV Rocky is getting is as light as SK's then than makes this a whole other ballgame (for instance pleating to the blue).

SK uses Cotton Poly or acrylic. They do NOT use PV to my knowledge. If they say they DO use PV, then they use someone other than MM's teflon Coated PV, so I can't speak to the quality.

Not quality I'm worried about (I'm absolutely sure yours is better). It's the color I wondered about, on their site all the colors are so much brighter that any other examples of the Army tartan I've seen. And their site doesn't say what material they use.

OK, I've managed to find a real jpg of the tartan, so here goes.

Pleated to the yellow (the #1 recomendation so far - note skinny black line represents the edge of a pleat it is not in the tartan)

Pleated to the green (so the yellow would only be seen as the kilt swished, as I was thinking)

Pleated to the blue (I'm actualy kind of liking this)

Finally just for giggles, pleated alternating yellow and blue (this has been done by a few Scottish Regiments according to an article I read this weekend, but it is still almost unheard of, still kind of interesting)

    What do you think?

Next question is for Rocky. After seeing my first military pleated (knife/box thing) this weekend, any chance of persuading you to try that style? I'd be way cool, and I'd be willing to pay extra.

I had never seen a kilt pleated this way before this weekend, it is truely magic (looks like 20+ 1" box pleats, very cool). No matter what I'm gonna have to get a kilt pleated this way soon.

IMHO I prefer the yellow stripe. Although I believe the yellow stripe would be much closer than what you have pictured. Yes the double yellow stripe will be very busy looking but it is regimental. Although the last picture did look interesting. At the end of the day this is your kilt and you must be satisfied with it.

I think you should try and redo this pic with the stripes closer. From pictures I've seen of this kilt your pleats (represented here) appear too big.

I think to the blue would be striking, and the inside of the pleats would flash the yellow when in motion.
