I got the game for Christmas, and have played it several times since.

It's actually a very fun game, and I've been looking for the expansion that has the Highlanders in it, but so far no go. I'll probably have to go through eBay.

Where do you find the game? Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Games workshop?

Yes to the first two, no to the latter. Walmart probably has the best price, but TRU carries some exclusive figures.

Walmart actually carries some exclusive figures too, but the last ones they had were for the '05 holiday season and it's unlikely any are still on the shelves.

It's a darn fun game, though set up time can be tedious. I usually set up the board early Saturday morning and then have friends come over and play. Set up can take an hour or better, and the game takes at least that long again, more if it is a complicated scenario.

I've gotten about 5 or 6 expansions so far, including a castle set, and it makes the game a heck of a lot more fun.
It's also fun to fight one scenario and then right after switch sides and fight the same scenario, from the other position. (defending the castle rather than attacking it, etc...)

Ever play any other miniatures board games? Or any miniatures games at all for that matter? I'm a Warhammer 40k player myself.

I played Warhammer 40K for a bit with a roommate who had the figures. I dont have either the time nor the money to invest in the more expensive types of miniatures.

Heroscape isn't quite like those, for one the pieces are plastic and pre-painted, and dont really qualify as "collectible". The game itself is very fun though, and the low cost (comparatively) makes it much more accessable for players. The rules are pretty straightforward too, and the terrain comes with the master set, so you dont need to invest much in that. You can play several very involved scenarios right out of the box, or you can get the expansions and keep on adding.
