It's a double celebration here in Wales!

Not only Burn's birthday but also St Dwynwen's Day! (The Welsh equivalent of St Valentine.)

... Robert Burns. Although I am an Irishman ( Roscommon and Galway produced my family) I can still appreciate all that the great Scot gave us. Best wishes to all of my Scot friends here. I will be wearing one of my Tartans all day in his honor.

Yes, Happy Burns day. Will be celebrating with the traditional meal tonight - no Burns supper formalities but we will have Haggis, neeps and tatties as our main course.

Let us raise a cup of kindness yet for the sake of auld lang syne.

Reflecting on Burns the man and his work last week renewed my awe for his genius. I think much of his genius stemmed from the fact that he was as flawed and wonderful as all of us, and, for a' that an' a' that, he wrote some beautiful words.
