I often ask the same question. Who IS this man parading around our bedroom, worrying if his shirt and his kilt hose match (and just WHEN did socks become kilt hose???) or if his jacket is too short and if the pleats on his kilt will crease if he sits in the car too long?

*rolls eyes*

Used to be he'd just complain about his hiking boots being too wide on his feet.

Last month I went to my Godfather's funeral with my mother and we stayed in a room together. She could barely believe that it took me over twenty minutes to get dressed and had to help me buckle my sporran strap. We just take pride in looking good in our kilts and sometimes it takes a little more time.

I am not going to let my wife read this thread! She already gives me a hard time about this stuff.... Like "in the old days, you complained if you had to spend $20 on a pair of pants.... And now you think a $500 kilt is cheap!"

And for the comments... I will try to let you know my humble opinion sometimes, sure...

I love seeing Robin in his kilt and I have to admit, I do sometimes secretly roll my eyes when he's asking for
the umpteenth time if "everythings is oké in the back" stepping out of the car.
"Sure dearest, no crinkles, you look fine"
But I can walk really proud next to him, he always looks sharp, love it!

And please, don't be afraid to let your wives read this, I won't be trying to get you to get rid of your kilts

but honestly.... 20 pairs of hoses, in 18 different colours.... what ever happened to "if there are no holes in it, it's wearable" ?

Welcome! I like the idea of spouses becoming more active here at X Marks - my wife has blessed me with three utilikilts, but she's just not ready to see me in a tartan - perhaps if she saw it as another opportunity to laugh her backside off while watching me primp?? Whatever it takes to feed the addiction!

Too funny about the getting dressed and obsessions about creases and such.
