Hinky dinky sporran doo!
Gents, ladies, rabbles and rabblettes:
You know how we talk about the kilt as being attire, not a costume? My longest gripe in the kilted world (well, aside from the jones time!) has been the whole sporran issue.
I've got a couple of the Buzz Kidder sporrans, and a pair of the SWK Nightstalker sporrans as well. Mostly, I just use the SWK. (One of them has a stripped zipper, which I'll probably get repaired, but that's why I've got a spare.)
With the Buzz Kidder sporrans, everything ends up down at the very bottom of the sporran. Getting to stuff is . . . problematic. My keys, for instance, always end up at the very, very bottom, buried under cards in a clip, more cards in another clip, money in another clip, a cell phone, and maybe a pack of smokes and a lighter.
The SWK, of course, gives you three pocket options. First, the "sporran pouch" up front with the bellows, second, the "great huge honking pocket" that can hold pretty much anything, and third the zippered pocket in the flap.
I really, really like the SWK.
It's nylon, of course, and black, which are two limiting factors. And I've already got the BKs, which I don't use much due to the "everything ends up down at the very bottom" issue.
Thinking of that, I wondered . . . anyone use anything like this? http://www.countycomm.com/POCKETORGANIZER.htm Or like this? http://www.specopsbrand.com/ProductD...p?ProductID=5# While I have an almost visceral aversion to "tactical gear" I can't help thinking that something along these lines would just be the berries. (Bear's "sporganizer" seems to be much the same, only lots less tactimal.)
I figured I would ask and see if anyone else had tried it before I invested my hard earned shekels towards this. If no one else has, I guess I'll be the guinea pig!
Best,
KC
