Kilt with a waistcoat and tie?????

I like the look of the pic Hamish posted. I'd probably wear the tie a bit more crisp to follow the clean straight lines of the rest of the outfit. That's just me though.

It's hard for me to see the jacket in detail on my monitor but it looks like a contemporary version of the Braemer or argyle jackets without the gauntlet cuffs and pockets and epaulletes. Avery smart and modern look but still rooted in tradition to my eye.

I'd love to put together an outfit like that for church or other semi-formal events.

MooVet, welcome. "Black tie" does not require a bow tie, Just black. Got it? For me a hand tied four-in-hand tie looks better than a clip-on bow tie.

To a certain extent a wedding day is where the bride gets to play princess for a day. Would Prince Charming wear an ill-fitting rental tux? No way. Look at a few hundred photographs on the net and find the look that will make you look like a million dollar accessory on your bride's arm and dress that way.

Moovet's post is dated 07-11-2006 which means 7th November, 2006, so I'd take his reference to getting married in November as meaning November 2007. Unless the date of the post displays American style. If Bob's correct and the wedding has already taken place, please let's see some pictures, Moovet.

I never could figure out which way was right Military is Month/Day/year but ive seen it different.
