In a democracy it's your vote that counts; in feudalism, it's your Count that votes.

Wow. KT, you're off and running on a great job.
And, Barb, your expertise and technical explanations alone are worth showing up for.
Thanks to you both.

Wow, so it's almost been three months, but life tends to do that to you sometimes. Finished up the pleats LAST weekend, and sorta finished the join tonight. By that I mean I sewed the join, joined the middle pleats, then decided I didn't like the join on the underside, so I undid it and I am attempting to resew it. Anywho...here are a couple quick shots. I won't be doing any closeups like Barb. I'll just let you all keep believing I know what I'm doing and it's coming out well

box pleated kilt
I recently completed a 4 yard box pleated kilt in this tartan for a client (who's a new member on this board!), for those wondering what it would look like. To me there was no question -- I wanted to emphasize the blue and hide the red!

I am actually planning to make a box pleat with boxes that put the pleat edge in the black and makes a box pleat to sett. (the result will be large pleats)
I will "center" it on the blue.
I'll actually measure and make sure it is more than 5 or 6 pleats. If not, I'll have to do what Matt did.
I am working (slowly) on my MacNeil tartan, then I will start the Amer. BiCent. to have it done by July 4th.
Add-> the full repeat is just barely over 7 inches, leaving 3.5 from black center to black center, or 7 pleat facings for me. So, Box Pleated to Sett it will be (and I'll get pics up here somehow).
