Brilliant AnimalK,
I wore the blue and I already have a Ramsay tartan kilt.
Hmmm, a law enforcement oriented kilt pin...?? Badges were too heavy and had to turn them in when I moved on.

I'm not a cop, but I think this is a great idea. Not sure about international (like the Interpol tartan), but what about a tartan for the Fraternal Order (in USA)? That would apply to all cops, brown or blue uniform. Right?

Count me in. Been in blue 8 1/2 years, hence the screen name (just a little twisted humor ). I think a general all inclusive law enforcement tartan would be great. What a way to show a sense of pride and brotherhood across agencies and jurisdictions.

You might find disagreement from the LE Honor Guard, but I won't quibble with you.

As a retired LEO I would also be interested in a Kilt. Norby, I noticed that when we went to the Festival In Estes Park the local police had on blue tartan kilts. Did you get a look at them? Anyway, I called them and left a voice mail with Sgt Eric Rose to find out if the tartan was made for the police department. Hopefully he'll get back to me with the answer.

I'd certainly be interested. I suppose blue for city, green for county and brown for state would get everyone in the loop - but it might compete with the "loud Macleod" for attention getting.
Perhaps something incorporating the "thin blue line" concept.

Did anyone link to the RCMP tartan yet? I'm not a big fan of it, and I can't see it going well with the Red Serge or with a regular RCMP uniform... but then again I'm not a cop.

The RCMP tartan looks quite natty with the scarlet of the "Mounties", INMHO:
