    For Dad

My father likes the red based tartans....and was really impressed by my Clark PV and hinted and hinted and hinted about the kilt. So I am going to order him one. But I would like some suggestions about which I should choose from USAK Semi-Trad range. I like the Prince Of Wales personally. Thanks to all in advance. CR66

One of my few regrets buying USA Kilts has been that I didn't get the Prince of Wales in semi-trad instead of the casual I bought. It is a beautiful tartan and should be even more beautiful in the semi-trad. Even better if there's Welsh heritage.

That is a sharp tartan. Both of my USAKs are casuals. I will order a semi-trad some day. But, you know, I've found that even the casuals look nice with a coat.

Oh, and I like the "MacNaughton" for "red based." But, I'm certainly fond of the Prince of Wales. I've found a weeeeeeee bit of Welsh down the Paternal grandmother's side. So, a casual in that tartan may be in order.

My favorite red is either Wallace or Macqueen with Prince of Wales as a close third.

If you have Welsh heritage, you'll be happy to know that we're getting the St David's National tartan in PV in a few weeks!

The Prince of Wales is a nice tartan, however as my mom is a Stewart, that will be my red tartan. I also really like the red stripe in my Gunn Modern.

Rocky, you're a mind-reader. I had decided it might be worth a call just to see if you could get that very tartan in PV and lo and behold you've already done it! I need something for my Welsh heritage and while I'm not wild about the Howell tartan, I really like the St. David's tartan. Better start collecting pennies again.

    Talking about red tartans...

I'm disappointed that more people don't have MacGregor. My mum is a full MacGregor, although my father's descent is English/Australian.

Besides, red looks good on me.

    Wade.
