    Got my Xmarks pin.

    Taking a cue from the Venerable Laird Hamish, Mine will have a place of Honour on my magnificent Dreadbelly B-17 Bulletproof Tam! {whew, that was a mouthful!}

    Will the band even support something that heavy?

    I hadn't thought of trying that. Hrmm. You'd have cold metal against your scalp I think. **Scratches head**

    I'd like to figure out some kind of liner for the hat but worry about the fabric peeking through the weave.

    How does it look on there? Could I get a picture? It would be helpful to the design process.

    Dread, I took a small piece of leather about the same size as the pin and punched two small hoels in it. the leather is dark brown, so it shouldn't show through. Wait a mo and I'll post a pick. Quite comfy!

    the pins are right at the top edge, where the side meets the top.

    Then don't use a matching tartan and be proud that it shows through.

    Man, that olive green is lovely. I need to order more and make me a hat some time.

    No metal pokey bits in the noggin? I'd worry about those snagging my dreadlocks.
