I will firmly commit to 2-meters double-width!
(That's all Matt says he needs to make a box-pleat kilt.)

Not to throw a monkey into the works but...
Last time a run was done a poll was taken to see if anyone wanted wool or PV, and wool won out. However, would there be any interest now in doing a PV run (in other words, I'm not interested in $110 for 2 yards of Wool for a box pleat right now, but I'd consider $30 for 3 yards of PV so I could get a kilt from Rocky).

Does F/K even weave in PV?

With all the money I just spent on my wedding kilt outfit, this thread is torture! I just can't do it right now but I'm VERY interested!

PV can be done, but I, for one, would MUCH prefer wool.
A 16 oz PV could even be done, but still in $20+/yard range -at cost- and need 300 yards. I'm not sure of the quality of fit-n-finish either, or the teflon coating that is on Rocky's fabric. I found this out as a by-product of a conversation about other material. That is A LOT of one tartan!!! (100 6 yard kilts in PV, I'm not sure enough of us would be interested in it to justify that kind of a run.)
I am still curious about a 16 oz wool and the cost there from F & K.
Steve, Steve, your the MAN!!!! You can DO IT!!!!!!!!

Marton Mills web site says the minimum run is 130 meters (142 yards) and it is double width so we'd need about 45-50 people (assuming some would want and 8 yard kilt and some a 4 yard), which I agree sounds like alot. On the other hand a recognized kilt maker (Rocky, Steve, Matt, Bear - what ever happened to Bear?) may be able to get a smaller run, I don't know, I was just tossing out the idea.

It's wool or nothing for me... (preferably 100% Scottish wool)

Please put me down for four meters (wool). Just let me know when you need the cash.

I suspect that with his recent price changes we should be able to get the price down to around $50 or $55 per meter double width if we order more than 30 meters.
That means we would have to have firm commitments from 8 people for 4 meters each.
I swore after the last time that I wouldn't do this again, but what the heck. Let's do it.
My word Steve - you are a VERY brave man. Have you been pub crawling or something?

I'm game this time around as well. My first "real" kilt might as well be x-marks tartan. 4meters for me too please.
