    I like to be organized

I do not like searching for things when I am trying to get dressed for work in the morning. I pull out a hanger and everything I need is on that hanger. I need not search for anything. I put on my shoes & I am out the door.

I thought “why not do this with my kilts?” Last night I started doing just that. Now I pull out a hanger & I have a kilt with its own kilt pin, kilt hose, flash & a sgain dubh. All that is left is for me to do is pick out a shirt, strap on my belt & sporran, & put on my shoes.

I have some more kilt hose & sgains to buy for my other 7 kilts. At least when I ordered my Buchanan “The Works” from Sport Kilt a few days ago I remembered to order kilt hose just for it. Now I’ll need to order that rampant Lion sgain dubh with the synthetic topaz from him. The yellow will be perfect with the Buchanan tartan.

That's a very good system. Mine is not quite as exotic unless I am traveling, but I do keep my stuff in special drawers. For example, I keep all the leather (sporrans, straps, belts, etc.0 in one drawer, all the holse and garters in a drawer, and all the sgian dubhs and dirks on another drawer. I do keep the formal stuff all together like your examples, though: jackets, fur sporran, belt, starched shirt, bow tie, all together in one suit bag with a cedar plank inside.

    Thanks for the pix.

Good idea, but I don't have enough kilts or kilt stuff to make it an issue for me, sadly. Perhaps one day...

I simply keep all the kilts together in the closet, along with my tweed argyll. The leathers, hose, flashes, belts, straps etc. are all kept in a decorative trunk Nikki and I received as a wedding gift. But, my accessories are quickly outgrowing it.

    TB,

Almost a year ago I purchased a shoe boxed sized plastic container for all my kilt accessories. Now I have 4 of them that are all filled to the brim with sporrans, belts, flashes, and other misc. accessories, my top dresser drawer is filled with kilt hose, and half my closet is now dominated by kilts, kilt jackets, and the shirts and sweaters that are earmarked for my kilted outfits.
I don't want to even mention my hat rack...

    Jeepers where does this end?

    Cheers

In college, living in a dorm, organized means the heap of clean clothes and the heap of dirty clothes are not one in the same. :blue_ban:

I am the same way Dirk Skene. I have my kilts in my closet alphabetically, and separated by the clan. eg. all my douglas kilts are together, MacFarlane all together, etc. I just like knowing where my kilt is in my closet, when I get to wear it. I just like being organized.

Oh come on, you're in college. There is more than just clean and dirty. There are several degrees in between (per Bill Murray in Ghostbuster II).

A sgian for every kilt? That's posh!

I make do with one and put the savings towards more kilts!
