That is $70 off the normal price. Not too shabby. I have the Cameron from WPG and love it. There are some things that one should take into account before ordering:
1) It is HEAVY 22 oz. wool and is hot. I sweat under it even in the middle of winter. So don't plan on wearing it in Arizona in July. Do wear absorbent socks. (Why doesn't any one make cotton kilt socks, by the way? I know it isn't traditional, but for day wear, it would be great!)
2) The length of a military kilt is meant to be longer. So plan on an extra 2-3 inches more than normal length for you. As I understand it, one is supposed to wear it just a hair under your ribcage. My normal length is 24", but for a military kilt, it is 27".
3) it is not slimming. But it doesn't look bad on us big guys, either, Riverkilt. I like to wear a sweater with it so the high waist doesn't show. A waistcoat would work, as well.
4) All that cloth really swings like nothing else. But it is also hard to get it all into the car, at least when you are tall and wide to start with. So you learn to sit into the car first, smoothing as you sit, then turn to face the wheel. If you do it right it all moves into place. If you don't, you will be sitting uncomfortably or will have most of the kilt pulled in right beside you so you can close the door.
5) I second the need to replace the buckles and belts. I have found the ones on it have leather that is too stiff to get through the buckles comfortably. That or the buckles are not rightly sized for the leather. I need to find a replacement set and learn to sew them on one of these days.
