Another Newbie from OZ
Hi, I'm Alan.
After a lot of consideration and poking/prompting form my wife, I got kilted about three years ago. I've enjoyed it ever since, I've two kilts; a tailored 13oz Buchanan Modern (yes it's loud, but mum was a Buchanan and I like it simply because not every man and his dog has one) and a cheap casual Gordon. The Buchanan gets worn to events and the Gordon is just for knocking around as its less likely to get dirty. All of my Sporrans(day and dress) we made at home, I'll post photos in the DIY forum later. I thought I was the only one nutty enough to re-tailor a jacket into an kilt Jacket, but I see here i'm not the first. The Buchanan often gets worn with a black shirt as the contrast works well.
We've got plans to attend a cousins wedding in Edinburgh in April, so the Buchanan should get an airing there. Doing about 5 weeks touring while we're there, meet family I've never met before.
It looks like a fun forum anyway, I'll be coming back .
Al

Nice introduction! Welcome aboard from Snellville Georgia!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
