Don't give up yet! This is the final batch of Hampix.....

This is my favourite photo of our wonderful host and hostess - The Laird and Lady of Ferintosh. Thank you, Robertson and Emma for such a brilliant weekend.

On Monday morning there was just time for a little shopping and further exploration of Dumfries town. Dee took this photo before he rushed off to Glasgow, en-route for the USA. Derek and I are beside the River Nith with Devorgilla's 13th Century footbridge behind us.

In the afternoon, Robertson and Emma gave up their precious (and much-needed) rest time to take Derek and me out into the countryside, and to visit Emma's parents. Here Derek, Robertson an' ai are at Southerness Lighthouse, at the point where the River Nith flows into the Solway Firth. The free-standing building is the oldest and one of the few remaining square lighthouses in Scotland, if not the United Kingdom.

I took this dramatic skyscape, looking southwards out into the Solway Firth, from Southerness.
And finally:

Tuesday morning and time for The Laird of Ferintosh to bid farewell to The Laird of Lochaber at the conclusion of what was undoubtedly an utterly amazing, and truly enjoyable, weekend. Thanks to our hosts and our fellow guests for making it so.
