For crying out loud
I'm posting this in the Newby section, because a silly trend is going on. When welcoming people in the newby section, check to see who you are welcoming, please. Right now there is a revived thread with 3-4 new welcomes to a person who has been a member for over a year. In the past month I have seen "Welcomes" to many people members or 6-9 months, in many cases longer than the people doing the welcoming.
I'm sorry, but by doing this it actually diminishes the welcome (i.e. I'm just tossing out a generic welcome without checking to see who it is really going to).

Sorry Arrogcow, that was me I will do my best to remember to check from now on.
In my defence I dont go trolling for welcomes, but if I see one in the portal I will respond, however I will check the dates from now on as you do have a valid point.

The way my memory is, I have to scan the ones even with the most recent dates to see if I have posted before. I've found a way to delete my own posts if I make a mistake(and I sometimes do)
