And they'll do that for any Modern tartan?
Yes, although it would be a custom weave (which you could have done in their heavy weight version). I had that done for a MacNab kilt that a customer wanted. He didn't really want the blindingly red modern MacNab, and the reproduction version that Dalgliesh wove was beautiful. I'll try to remember to bring a scrap in tomorrow and scan it so that you can see the difference. I'll also bring in a few of the reproduction tartans swatches i have to scan so that you can see what others look like.
I think the last time I had a custom weave done in heavy weight, a full 8 yards, it was about $350 including shipping. Maybe a bit more.

One small correction... I think the minimum for double width orders is 16 M.
The flyer that I posted above actually says min order is 30 yards (27.5 m) for double width. Rocky - did you negotiate a different minimum?

I told her (Angie I assume) that I needed enough for 3 kilts... She said that if I ordered 16 M, it could be woven double width. I didn't THINK I got a special weave of a shorter piece, but maybe I did! Hmmm... maybe it was a slow time and they made an acception to get an order from me. Either way, I ended up happy.

K/1 or F/1?
The Kilt Kamps have a kilted canine contemplating the consumption of cloth for kilt construction.
Sorry, I was feeling alliterative.
Anyway, my reason for resurrecting this thread - what is the difference between K/1 worsted heavyweight and F/1 worsted heavyweight?
I don't remember.

The K1 is a typical hard tartan weave. The F1 is the same weight but finished a little differently and has a slightly softer hand. Not fuzzy exactly, but smooth as opposed to hard.

Barb,
Thanks - that's exactly what I wanted to know.
