How I decide
Hell-o all,
Just thought that I would give you all a glimpse of how I buy a Kilt.
I have a long and I do mean long list of Kilts that I want, broken down into need to have, really want to have, and just plain nice to have.
Next I have a long list of fine Kilt makers.
Tartan or plain is also in the mix.
With a dab of traditional or contemporary, I toss a coin.
Then with that I go back to my long list.
When I get up from sitting on my wallet, and all things are in alignment I can then proceed to purchasing.
I sense alignment soon.

I usually do the "stalk and splurge" method.

My purchases are regulated more by my old house that always needs fixin', and some recent bad weather that did a number on my car. Oh well, I can always dream . . .

A model worthy of emulation! (Still fumbling with my wallet...)

There once was a fellow named Glen
Who was a kilted giant among men
A new kilt he declined
Until the planets aligned
And no one could tell when.

Now that's a very good method. There is also the "lust and leap" method and the "spend-money-you-haven't-made-yet" method.
I prefer buying before thinking too hard about it and living with the consequences when they come home. After all, I can live a long time on beans if I over do!

Exactly! Why let "thinking" get in the way?!

Sounds like how I decided upon my first ex-wife...

And it sounds similar to her budgeting techniques!

Surely your kilts must have a bit more significance to you than coin tosses, celestial convergences, and random urges. That's the way I choose trousers!

Yes, but do you make lists of the trousers that you want to purchase over time?
