    Canadian Scottish Regiment badge

I'm not sure how big this badge is, but it looks like it would make a dandy kilt pin for all you Canadians, eh?

That is the badge of the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment, which became a Scottish regiment in the 1950's; before that it was simply the Lake Superior Regiment, so the web site's claim that it was somehow involved in the fur trade is more than a little erroneous.

Still, it is a nice badge, and the "Lake Sups" are a proud regiment -- I have a print of their uniform hanging in my office -- they wear the MacGillivary tartan, in honour of one of the Scottish members of the Northwest Company, which was based at Ft. William, now Thunder Bay.

    Cheers,

    Todd
