    OK, heads up!!

I've moved Steve's two posts about the tartan ordering process into a separate thread. I also locked it, so the information won't get buried in a never-ending thread.

Is the fabric to be made of worsted wool?
I can imagine 16 ounce Merino wool being
quite soft and fluffy if it is not worsted.

Yes, the Wool is Worsted. In both spinning and weaving.
    Yes, the Wool is Merino.

    So what does this mean?

16 oz. F & K fabric seems to be very nice kilt wool. In my opinion better than the 14 we ordered last time. It has a nice firm hand without being scratchy. It seems to hold a pleat better than the last run.
I have a sample of the RCMP Tartan in Gordons 16 oz. sitting on my Tewksbury 16 oz, Locharran Highland Granite Tartan as a comparison.
To my eye the indivdual yarns seem just a bit smaller in the F&K.
The surface of the F&K seems to feel much smoother.
I guess the best discription I can use is
The F&K is "clean, neat, crisp"
The Locharran is "rich, full, luxurious"

This sounds like what I've been waiting for.
Now I only need to figure out how to pay for it.
Do you have any idea when you will be placing
    the order?

Also, have you decided on what fraction of
a meter (if any) you are willing to cut the
fabric? It may be a nice thing to include this
information in the sticky "how to order" post.

Alright! Order info has been sent!

Oh, & as an FYI... I figured that after sending Steve my order info, I'd head over to PayPal & make the payment, but I got this message from Steve in an e-mail - Please wait to send any money until I have all the orders in my hand and generate PayPal invoices.

So, hold that money for now, folks, but get those orders in!
