I took the tassels off of my SWK economy sporran. I think it looks pretty cool without them.

I have a swk economy sporran, the tapping got on my nerves so i hot glued them down since their pretty rigid and don't sway around much in the first place.

I took my tassles off and hung them from chains.

Glad to hear others are coming up with solutions for the tapping. It was one of the reasons why I posted the thread "How Low Should It Go" about a month ago. When I moved the sporran up a bit, the tapping was much less vigorous and like Panache, I don't even hear it anymore.

Interesting advice, McVarmit, about taking them off, unrolling and reassembling with a leather shoe lace. I might do that with one that has chains that got a little rusty somewhere in their travels.

    Welcome to the forum, McVarmit.

    One final note.

I noticed that Stillwater now sells a newer version of their braided sporran with tassles attached to the sporran with small chrome chains that are designed to be removable for about $30.

You can have your cake and eat it too!

    Cheers

I haven't seen that version. I happen to like the tapping of the chains, lol.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. either that or removing them altogether, like some have.

I WANT my sporran to tappity tap tap when I walk.

It reminds me that I walk to the sound of my own drum.

I think part of the reason I can't handle the noise is because of my adult ADD. I can't pay attention to too many things at once, and the rattling can be quite distracting.

I could see how that would be a problem. That is very understandable.

You wouldn't want to be around me for any length of time, I drum my fingers on anything and everything that resonates. I drive people crazy.
