Note to self. When I become some big name fashion designer, go to Cali for a grand night out with some obviously classy people. Need lessons in rubbing elbows.

A few more pics from Los Gatos

Four of the Fab-Five out in the evening.

    Alan H., The F-H.C.A.G., mkmound, Panache -

Part of the swap with Panache included giving him the anticipatory delights of removing the basting threads before he could don his new HOUSE CHAIRMAN kilt. (Now you know why my sgian dubh for the evening was a pair of scissors. )

Who could refuse the F-H.C.A.G. when she insisted on trying on a kilt? So this turned into a fitting session.

    Hitting the streets

    Alan H & The F-H.C.A.G. window shopping

We spread cheer and happiness where e'er we went (this couple got pressed into service and forced to adopt the Hamish pose )

Some of the shop windows provided irresistable photo backgrounds

Yes, the extra character is in *GASP* a bifurcated garment! But it is also outside the male norm, so this one is entitled, "Men in Alternatives."

    Unique belt and unique pleats

The five hours the five of us spent together last evening were truly enjoyable. The stunning and gracious F-H.C.A.G. kept the four brutes fairly civilized throughout the adventure. But then, we were also in the presence of an official of XMarksTheScot. Besides, Alan H and w2f were worn out just trying to finish their respective kilts for this soiree.

It was a great pleasure to hang out with mkmound. I just hope he had as good a time I did.

Part of my new ensemble was a new hand-made belt (part of a three-way trade involving a kilt I made.) The maker, CISCO KID, usually makes holsters for members of S.A.S.S., a cowboy shooting organization, but took on this special assignment. What really threw him was the special wire hook-thingy on kilt belts, but we used one off a cheapy eBay belt.

Here is a "teaser" pic of pleating the MBP (military box pleats) using 16 oz MacLaren Weathered tartan.

    Th... th... thaat's all, folks!
