I've been thinking of making myself a Henrician bonnet, also known as a flat cap, a hat worn in Tudor England. It looks like a beret, but it's got a brim, which I think is why I like it better (I'm a big fan of brims).

Do you have a picture of one of these Henrician bonnets?

A lot of us wear regular flat-brim caps, also known as driving caps or newsboys. I actually wear it more without kilts than with.

It's a less costumish alternative to the Henry hat you mentioned.

I was a Boy Scout when those red berets were introduced. My entire troop refused to wear them.
