I'm a member. Essentially the idea is to celebrate our Celtic heritage and the contribution it's made to countries like the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand (among others); the "new world".
Among other things, we host events like kilt nights and whisky tastings, the proceeds of which go to endeavors which further the mission statement above. We've sent athletes to Scotland to compete in the USA v. Scotland Highland Games, and several Scottish dancers, pipers, and drummers to compete in the US, Canada, and Scotland, while enjoying quite a bit of fun and camaraderie in the process.
