Kilt in the House

Ok I am not sure if it has been asked but if you wanted a kilt for longing in the house that you could also run out of the house on an errand...what would you wear?

To qualify this discussion, lets imagine that a kilt towel does not exist.

I wear budget kilts for lounging around the house and going out on the occasional errand. I've bought four cheap kilts from this seller, three polycotton ones (two black, one Royal Stewart) which are very light and an acrylic one in navy blue. OK for lounging around the house in or going to the shops and fun and comfortable to wear, but at such a cheap price you can't expect to get a smart looking kilt in which you could take yourself seriously.

hmm.....pretty much any of the kilts I have now, since I don't yet have a MacTavish tartan tank that I am happy with!

Holy smokes C152T they are a good price. I considering the Black Watch now. I think you'd look good in the goth pvc.

Well if only I was thirty years younger I might. The goth pvc kilt is only availabe in sizes up to 36 inch waist, or eXtra Large as they label it, whereas I'm a portly 39" waist so just as well I don't want one as I wouldn't find one to fit. Yes these kilts are really cheap, and he usually has about 300 listed so you can usually find something in a suitable size and tartan for a casual kilt but do bear in mind they are probably made in Pakistan and no way can they be expected to match the quality of a Scottish wool kilt.

no to hijack the thread, but I just might get one of the pvc kilts! If nothing more it would be good for halloween!

The Utilikilt is sometimes described as "the blue jeans of the kilt world". I wear my Utilikilt for exactly the situation you describe. It flairs out enough to be comfortable lounging around. It doesn't need a sporran but it has deep pockets for wallet, keys and other necessaries.

For lounging, I'd say a Sportkilt with a cheap sporran (for errands).
