You mean I am the only one that adds "Drop the puck!!" to the end of those lyrics?

My best pal, who is the owner/driver of the race team I worked for was from London, Ontario. We would race in Canada a couple times times each year. Canada felt pretty much like a second home to me.

I have not yet been to Canada. I have seen it (across Niagra Falls) and flown over it a couple of times to and from Europe. On my way back from England, we flew over the Labrador region. Out the window you could see the ice breaking up (it was June). I really wish that my camera was not packed away for that sight.

I raise a toast to the Maple Leaf.

It's just about 12:00 noon my time, so I raise a salute to the Canadian Maple Leaf on this day.

There is some great history on the creation of the flag, and the reasons why what we have now was chosen, on this site:

Congratulations. Yesterday in honor of the occasion I wore my Maple Leaf kilt, raised a wee dram and sang a verse of O Canada as my grandfather taught me:
O Canada! Terre de nos aïeux,

Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!

Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,

    Il sait porter la croix!

    Ton histoire est une épopée

    Des plus brillants exploits.

Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,

Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

    Vive le Canada

Ruanaidh, I had to sing the English and French versions of the national anthem followed by God Save the Queen everyday in Elementarty school.

Thanks for adding the French version of the anthem, in my ignorance, I had forgotten to add it.

    Merci.
