Greetings from Houston
I am a native of Louisiana but moved to Houston about 15 years ago for law school. New to the site so bear with me while I look around, I just got an invite from a friend of mine called Judge here. I don't own a kilt but I may buy one at the highland games. Well the prospect is highly unlikely, the gf is not a fan of them even remotely but I may by some tartan fabric for a scarf.

Welcome, from Idaho. It helps if she's a supporter - my wife bought all three of my Utilikilts, it's up to me to save the pennies for the leather saffron next on my list - but things do change for the better, sometimes. Good luck!

Welcome aboard, from Oregon! There are many here that can relate to their significant others not being thrilled with kilts (raises MY hand). This is still a very supportive, informative bunch. Enjoy the heritage and the rabble here!

Welcome aboard from Snellville Georgia. You just need to show your GF some of the pictures here on the various threads. It will certainly help her to see the kilt as a man's garment.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Welcome from the boondocks of arkansas.
If you plan on shopping for a kilt at any of the games around here stay clear of clansman knitwear. Do a search to see all the problems we have had of him and I know he makes the games in our areas.

i will go to the games but if i value keeping this good woman, leaving with a kilt will be a mistake on my part

If she leaves over the fact you just got a kilt I say let her go. If she leaves over the fact you spent $400 of ya'lls bill money on a kilt I can't blame her.

haha brother she is too much of a catch to worry bout the little things. the money isnt the issue. besides its all about compromise. if i dwell on this, then i would be hounded about that vacation to Italy. As I hate to travel and truly hate leaving the US, the choice would not be prudent at this time. I would rather she just go get a new car, or something.
