Ah but Mike - the idea of such a forum is to encourage and enable kilted travel in Scotland!
So it's kind of killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

I think that while you don't have to be Scot to wear a kilt, Scotland is part and parcel of the history of the kilt. I truly believe that all of us here on this forum want to go to Scotland, if not to go to the source of our own heritage, then to see "the birthplace of the kilt." I think the sticky combining other threads is a good start, but a sub-forum in off-topic would be a better idea, as different areas of Scotland could be represented in different threads.
Just my $0.02.

I agree....a very good idea!
just a sticky "travel guide" won't do the job.

So, if this is a kilts forum, and as such we shouldn't have "off topic" sections, then should we not relegate Highland Games and Celtic Event Discussion : A place to talk about up and coming Highland Games or Celtic Events and General Celtic Music Talk : A place to talk Celtic music... to Off Topic as well?
Perhaps there could be a Kilt History and Heritage forum with sub fora that take on the various Games and Music and ancestral lands etc.
For the record I'm in favor of a Scotland forum section.

Let's do it. I think it is a great idea.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I think it's a grand idea. When I finally do get to travel to Scotland, I will be following the advice I've pieced together from the Off Topic forum anyway...
