T'would also be nice if the calendar included all those 'special' days for those who need an excuse to kilt up - St. David's Day, the anniversary of Culloden, etc.

I have found that I just do not respond, just to respond. If i don't have something either witty (at least I think it's witty), or informative, I don't feel a response is necessary, though sometimes they are fun.
Thanks for the two calendars, I know they will be very useful by all!

Beertigger,
Anyone can put those special days in the calendar. Feel free to add some of them. Every little bit helps and adds richness to our knowledge pool.

Who needs a 'special' day as an excuse to wear the kilt? Every day in a kilt is a 'special' day - even when one has been wearing them daily for the past 2,830 days at least!!
[PS: I have also added a couple of United Kingdom events to the calendar for July]

On a couple of fora I'm a member of (Living History Library, formerly Arador, and Sword Forum International) there are member titles that aren't very descriptive and are based on post count, but they also have some other titles that are given out based on experience. On LHL those who are considered leaders in their feild are awarded with an "Experienced in my Feild" title, and professionals like bladesmiths are also honored on SFI. We do that to a limited extent here, but if there's concern over the member titles being uninformative, maybe we could explore different titles?

BUt we do have some special titles. The Laird above is an "Honoured Member" not because of his post count but rather is knowledge and experience kilt. He is a universal kilt ambassador and is respectfully acknowledged as such.

Over here, where La Fiesta de los Vaqueros (Rodeo Days) is a four-day holiday weekend, it helps to have a bit of an explanation.
Me, I still enjoy a sharp suit as well as the kilt. Of course, I don't wear either frequently enough....
