Okay then, its the yellow Sponge Bob shirt with the bumble bee rugger hose!
Seriously, I got smart and went surfing on the many Clan MacLeod webpages.
Looks like this tartan goes with most any color. Saw pics with the usual black, but also white, yellow, red and navy. Looks okay. And, I suspect some of the green and brown suggestions would work too.
I'm guessing it doesn't matter much what is worn with the "loud" MacLeod because it just fades into the background around that most lovely tartan.
Thanks for the ideas gang.

I saw a nice dress shirt today, it was black with red and yellow stripes. I instantly thought of this thread.

I grew up in Wooster Ohio and saw the band many times. I thought it was odd that there was no pipers.
Here is a link to some pictues of the band.

Ron,
The F-H.C.A.G. just ordered a semi-traditional from Rocky yesterday!
I'll be glad to share "gang" colors with you and Tatoobradley (though I'm a Mcleod by marriage only). This will be my first USA Kilt and I'm already laying out my red polo shirt, red beret, off white hose, and red flashes. I'll be the only kilted fellow in California viewable from orbit!
Cheers

Congrats! Canary bait for sure!
There was a lady at the Mesa, AZ games in a Loud MacLeod tartan skirt and sash. Was gonna ask to take her picture but wasn't sure the camera sensors could handle the load.
Pointed her out to my red haired lady as the tartan I was awaiting and she became sort of nauseaous...each to their own.
On the way home stopped at the surplus store in Mesa and ran across a bright red t-shirt with "Marines" in yellow across the chest. Its awaiting the kilt now too.

I am really sensitive to colour - just the sponge bob tee shirt by itself made me go all goosebumps - with the Loud Macleod tartan - I think my hair is trying to stand on end.
I think browns, some greens and oatmeal would all go with the Loud Macleod - as an ankle length cape with a good overlap...

A BRIGHT yellow tropical print Hawaiian shirt. Maybe something with little brown pineapples.
