Pleating to the sett - How?

You could of course have a waist band only on the aprons where it would be a perfect match, and on the pleats take them up to the top of the kilt and have petersham ribbon on the back so the pattern appears to be continuous. <snip>

When I pleat to the sett, I make a minor tuck in the waistband at the front apron edge to match the sett in the pleats. Of course, given my measurements, I only have tapers at the apron edges. I think my method might work for someone who had to taper more if the tuck was made at the last taper on the front apron side.
