Promised pictures
I've been posting threads on this forum for a while now. I have promised pictures but I've been waiting for the right moment. Well it has arrived.
This is me in my Scott Brown Hunting Homespun by Celtic Crofts (LOVE IT!) and YES ladies and gents that is a bullet-proof Scots Belly-bonnet with wee pompom. It arrived in the mail today. Quite a hat there Dread!
Here's a close up . . .
I put the fly over my shoulder so you can see what a master he is in matching the kilt. Here are the pleats -
Wait there's more . . .
SWK Ancient LaMont with saffron flashes and YESYESYES another Belly-bonnet. Close up??
Here is the DIY red fox sporran I made from a cheap one I ordered from Ebay. The pelt was on a pillow that we kept moving around the house.
Finally,
Sorry Hamish. It was the best I could do.
Thanks everyone. Enjoy the pics. Scot

Opps. The sporran pic didn't make it. I was leaning over myself to take the pic so I'm a bit wrinkled.

I actually rather like the Lamont one. I am not a fan of white, but something about it really got to me as it slowly took shape in my hands. My first attempt at it involved two bands of white and a band of colour, but about six rows out and I realised it was too white for the tartan. I then tried it reversed. Two rows of colour, and a row of white. And realised that I would run out of colour before the hat was done. So... I just kept doing a row of each. I wasn't sure if it would turn out right that way, but after getting about half the crown done, I realised that it was balanced. Especially once I gathered up a wad of colour and pretended to stick it up top as a pom pom.
Trust me folks, the tops of the hats also look amazing... Especially on the Scott Hunting Brown!

You certainly know how to color coordinate. Much to my loved one's shagrine, that is a skill I do not possess. Great looking pictures! Keep 'em coming.

Grant - He likes me kilted but like most of our spouces, he thinks I've gone overboard (well I have but that's beside the point). DB's bullet proof Scot Bonnets with Wee Pompoms are evidence that he might be right.
Dread's right, the tops are great and the hats are VERY big. I don't think these are the usual size but he was working with very chunky fibre. I'll post some pics another day.
Thanks again Dread. I hope some more business comes your way as a result of your handiwork being on display again.
