there are so many deals on socks, how fast do you go through socks?

How fast do I go through socks?
Several factors:
How well do your shoes fit?
How much do you walk?
Are they wool? I've found that socks with a high wool content last longer than the others. I can only assume that this is because of the wicking ability of wool...wear tends to occur where there's friction and there's just not a lot of friction with well fitting shoes and wool socks.
