For my projects, life has stepped in.
I haven't posted here much recently.
HECK, when I openned up X Marks, there were 2,000+ posts.
My skunk is still in a box (just like when I opened the box upon receipt).
My other projects have ALL been on hold for the last few weeks (I haven't even put thread to needle).

In the past I have sprayed the inside of the head of the skin with water and waited until it was pliable and formed it over the headform until it was where I wanted it and then put a linen cloth over the entire works and set a 25 lb. bag of number 8 shot, ( I shoot a lot of shotgun so I reload), and leave it to dry for a couple of days. The heavy shot contours to the shape of anything under it and puts pressure from all sides evenly. Once dry I can separate it all and work with the skin formed in the shape of the headform to set the eyes and a little water will soften the skin around the eyes to form them any way you want.
Chris.

I have a nice tanned skin with head on, and I bought an inexpensive Stillwater sporran, and I want to stitch the hide onto the stillwater. Do you think that will work?Where do you get the tools to do the stitching?
Or, can I find someone who can do it for me? I'll be happy to pay the going rate.
