A challenge to all kilt makers

I just bought a sports jacket last week and it is made of bamboo. I love the jacket, it is light weight and soft. It is an all season jacket as well.

I have to wonder who is adventurous enough to make a kilt out of this alternative material?

Bamboo? Well, I don't know, I've never seen bamboo fabric before. Do you have a link to more info?

If it will hang right and would stand up to it, I might be game for your challenge.

    Edit to add:
Just looked it up on the web. Find me a 2/2 twill weave and I'll make one for you.

I have bamboo sheets on my bed. It is FANTASTIC as a material. If we did contemporary kilts, I would have to look into it further.

Our sheets are very thick (for bedsheets... probably about a 7 or 8 oz fabric) and feel something like a cross between a high thread count cotton and silk. Very soft and very durable fabric.

I have several shirts of bamboo (as well as several made of a pop-bottle/hemp blend) and I think it would make a great contemporary kilt fabric. Tough, heavy, doesn't crease, washabale, and...renewable! (as anyone who has ever grown bamboo can attest.)

I'm considering and exploring the use of bamboo. WE shall see what happens in the next few months, But I have to build Rocky's kilt first!

I don't like this thread because I was starting to look at some bamboo and hemp blends... And didn't say anything because I wanted to keep it under wraps.
