Scott,
Our prayers are with you, your mother and your family. Feel free to lean on us as you need. While I haven't lost either of my parents yet, I saw Mom pass out sitting up at breakfast Thanksgiving '05. I sent Dad to call 911 while my wife and I laid her on the floor. Thankfully it was just a minor reaction to her medication but it didn't look like it at first.
Peace

I lost my grandfather to cancer. Having lived with my grandparents this was quite a significant event. I know the pain you are feeling. Stay strong for your mother, and the rest of your family. This will make it easier for them, and when things get really tough, we here at X Marks will help you carry the burden of grief you have been handed.
Here in Boston, the fire dept in currently on a campaign to raise money for brain tumor research. Many members are being sponsored in their running of the marathon to raise money, and later this month we are having a fund raiser at the union hall. This issue has been raised because we have a captain who is suffering from this, as well as the 8 year old son of one of my class mates from the fire academy. Hopefully we can make a difference.
