I quite agree with you, Blazn, although the colours have photographed accurately, the actual tartan has to be seen to be truly appreciated.

#2... Where might I aquire a kilt pin like that? I rather enjoy the way that looks.
I already have two of these pins (for the other two Breton tartan kilts in my Kollection) and I am now waiting for delivery of the third. It was shown and listed in the on-line catalogue of 'La Maison du Kilt', but is no longer there. I wrote separately when ordering the kilt and Richard du Clos told me that he would send me one from France. I really do not know if this pin is actually discontinued with a few still existing 'under the counter' in Paris, or whether he removed it from the catalogue for another reason. If you wish, Richard can be contacted in Paris through the website, which is at: http://www.tartanbreton.com

Very striking kilt. Yellows aren't always easy to coordinate. Well done!

    Hamish,

If I only had half as much style as you do, I would be ecstatic!

    Nice looking Kilt.

I stand corrected, Ruanaidh, and I thank you for the correct information. Last year, when I obtained my first Breton kilt and kilt pin, I asked about the pin's design and must have misunderstood what I was told. Ermine fur, especially with the black tails intact, is used to trim most of the Court Robes and State Robes of the Royal Family and our nobility here in the United Kingdom. It is, I imagine, therefore but a stone's throw from heraldic symbols and devices here too - in fact, I have just had a close look at my family's armorial bearings and, yes, there are examples of the same Hermine symbol!! I'd not connected this until now so, again, thank you.
