    To be honest we learned as much American history in school, as Canadian history (cost of producing textbooks). Todd i'm sure will be able to help you. One snippet I did learn in school was that 'Cajun' is a dirivitive of 'Canadian' or more correctly 'Acadian'. Sorry I couldn't help.
