What is.....
I'm guessing its the winter coat. Heres a link to a video of Jethro Tull wearing what im talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toHlMD50eYY
I have been trying to find out what its called for a long time. The search inevidably lead me here, i had no idea such a place existed. seems like it may be fun and posibley a place where i can get leads on learning more of my scottish herritage.

Well, first off, welcome...
...and, not trying to be a wiseguy, that's Ian Anderson, the lead singer of Jethro Tull...the real Jethro Tull was a British agriculturalist in the 18th Century (this is a painstakingly historically accurate forum...stick around and you'll find that out).
But anyway, that style is called an Inverness...easy to find them in solid color waterproof versions because pipe bands wear them as rain gear...finding a nice tweed one like that may take some doing and, as with all things made of nice tweed, prepare to fork over the $$$$'s.
