You're right, there are better choices, but for some people who would otherwise never consider a kilt, they might say "hey it's only $70, why not." Then of course they will become addicted and need regular kilt fixes to control their impulses.
Or folks like my brother who kept saying he needed to get a kilt so he could wear it when he watches me compete at the festivals. He's never going to get around to ordering one of his own, so I gave him one of my SK's. Don't know if he'll wear it or not, but at least it's an option now.
