okaaaay...it seems that the 2nd Saturday in March 2007 is my wife's birthday and a 'kilt night' forms no part of her projected itinerary....so I'll be at the 'Trap' on the 2nd Saturday night in APRIL.
I think that 'organizing' is perhaps too strong a word for the level of planning required for these nights. let's each just give a shout out when and where we want to descend upon and the rest of us will endevour to comply - 'Not showing up' should not be interpreted as any sort ofd editorial/personal assessment.
I, for one go out very infrequently and tend to stay within a radius of about 4 miles, which is as far as I want to run with a sick hangover on a Sunday morning to go get the car, and my urge to go 'on the toon' largely conforms to what my Regimental and/or Veteran buddies are planning.
That being said, I'll STILL go considerably out of my way to have a pint with someone who's passing through town, or has taken the bother to try to start something up in his neck of the woods.
tira, lads

If the organizing just involves showing up, I can DO that! OK, tentative only, March 17 at the Firefighters Pub in Burnaby, about 4:00? To be confirmed later and directions to be posted.

St. Paddy's day? I won't be there unfortunately, as I have signed up for a St. Paddy's day curling funspiel, than off to the local pub to have a few more.
If I wasn't committed, I would likely try and take advantage of the annual Celticfest going on downtown.
Have fun though lads, I will see about heading out for a future 'burb night

St Paddy's won't work for me either - got a pipe-band gig that night - but if you want to have one at the Firefighter's latre on in the month or in April then I'm yer man! (platonically speaking)

April is always bad for me. I have both kid's birthdays and my anniversary. By the end of the month I am lucky to have two pennys to rub together.

Instead of drinking at only on Pub, let's make it the St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl. We meet at the Firefighter's pub at 4pm for our first pint, then we head out to Downtown Vancouver for the reminder of the pub crawl. We can hit, Irish Heather, Barney Stone, Atlantic Trapp and Grill for Dinner, Steam Works,Doolin's, Morrisey, and that new irish pub .

It's a pub-crawl itself - I dunno where we'll be or when (I guess I should check my emails more than I do!.....

The Old Admiral (used to be the NBI) in Burnaby is a nice big place. Kind of sporty-like but there's plenty of room to get away from all the rabid hockey fans. It's close to transit and has plenty of parking around the back. The food isn't the best though.

The pub at the base of SFU (the name escapes me right now despite being there dozens of times) is nice and big too. Oh, how I miss the NBI
