Source of Cheiftan or Swordsman's Waistcoat

Otherwise called a potain. I've been looking for a while. Mainly to compliment my kilt/jacobite outfit. Been to a number of website that sell what they call a swordsman's waistcoat, but are way too long for kilt wearing at the naval. Any suggestions? So I guess more of a Scottish Swordsman's Waistcoat is what I'm looking for. Thanks.

I got one off of Ebay that converts w/ zip off sleeves. It is Green. I almost wore if on St. Patrick's day if it hadn't been in the triple digits. I'll see who made it when I get home tonight. O'Neille

Here is the one that I got. I received it in about five days to the U.S. from this seller.

    I ran across this

Not sure if this is what you're looking for. I was going to recommend Museum Replicas but I checked first and they no longer carry anything that looks great kilt adaptable.

    Thanks.
I've bought from "CARSE OF GOWRIE Kilts and Kiltmaker" on Ebay before. Actually I think the fly plaid I wore in my wedding came from them.

My reason for wanting one is strictly to go with my garb for ren faire wear.
Being that Faire season is typically in the warmer months, wool wouldn't be by first choice, but the tweed option from cavscout is looking promising.

I'm going to second the 'CARSE OF GOWRIE' ones. They're pretty good quality and very comfortable. Not too long, either.

You might try a look at this:

    Pendragon Leather's "Rob Roy" doublet

I've got one of their "Celtic" doublets (see here) and I've had it for a little over ten years... it still looks good. I had to have them do a minor repair to one of the shoulder ties last month, and just got it back in the mail last week.

They do good work. I've got a "Rob Roy" on my wish list...
