    Not to debate, but the reason that Remembrance Day isn't a holiday is because holidays denote celebration and, well, fun. Remembrance Day shouldn't be that. I don't want people to start saying, "Hey! The eleventh! Let's go fishing!"

    THAT isn't right.

    Not so. The origin of the word Canuck is unclear, but it was in use at least as early as 1869 as the name of "Johnny Canuck," a character in the political cartoon of the same name.
