Sgian Dubh Two
My last two patients cancelled today! Yeah! Came home. Sewed some and then remembered I needed to send some Moose bits to pdcorlis. So I ended up in the shop with a blade and an antler.
Started w/ half a Bullwinkle

Sliced an appropriate chunk

Plus some more for pdcorlis because the saw was set up

A little drill press and saw work on the handle

A lot of test fitting

Decided I liked the handle the other way and cut some bayleen for caps

Mocked it together

Go pick up Daughter from school then, some buffing compound

Some polishing and it's done!

I really like how bayleen shines up like black stone

I've got a sheat from my first ivory sgian that I'll use for now.

O'Neille,
I don't mind you having talent(s),
what I mind is you making it look so easy!
Good on ya for your latest sgian dubh!

Great looking Sgian Dhub! I also curse you for putting up pics of the Huachuca mountains, it makes me homesick!

That's a beauty! Ah, another thing on my list of "things to do before I die", make a Sgian Dubh. Congrats on such a nice job!

I live between the Huachucas and the Mules. Those are the mules in the background behind my house. I have a little cabin up there. If you browse my posts you'll see some very nice Huachuca Mtn. pictures. O'Neille

I like, very nice. Where do you get the blade blanks or do you make those also?
