Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

I've had a couple of Sport kilt, and personally I think they're great. I know others on these boards disagree, and think you should save up for a "real" kilt, but I have no desire to get my wool kilt covered in tacky or speared by a fork during the games.
It's a great, low-cost alternative for an entry-level kilt as well.

For competing I think they are a wonderful choice, also as a wrap for tri-athletes which, it is my understanding, they were originally designed for, but I think there are better representations of kilts for someone looking for an entry level garment.

Chef,
You're right, there are better choices, but for some people who would otherwise never consider a kilt, they might say "hey it's only $70, why not." Then of course they will become addicted and need regular kilt fixes to control their impulses.
Or folks like my brother who kept saying he needed to get a kilt so he could wear it when he watches me compete at the festivals. He's never going to get around to ordering one of his own, so I gave him one of my SK's. Don't know if he'll wear it or not, but at least it's an option now.

Better choices? Hmm. My choice is well thought and considerate of need and want. I lose no sleep over a misgiving of hoped for quality when what I want doesn't measure up to a higher standard. Choice makes for the current kilt around my waist or hips to be the best choice possible. My first kilt was the best choice possible for my circumstance or standard. Each succeeding purchase whether UK, SWK, or SK has been top rate in my choices catalogue!

Strangely enough that's almost exactly how it happened ...
CT - but it was only $50

Congratulations to SportKilt! I had no idea their factory is so close to my in-laws. I may have to go pay them a visit this weekend.

I've chosen to go this rout for my first Kilt,
and considering that I'm going to be playing Paintball in my Kilt, this seems to be the best choice all the way round.
i mean could you see yourself creeping around in the woods in the middle of August wearing you pure wool direct from Scotland high value Kilt?
in this case the Sport Kilt just makes better sense.
