New Kilt Pin

Decided that my two new grey-green kilts needed a new kilt pin. Found this one at http://treasuredfinds.com. It is sterling silver with a green peridot stone and thistle design.



Their prices are great, and service outstanding. Sorry that the photo quality is not better.

Man, that place is cool! How solid is the piece? What I mean is the metal real thin? Is the back of it rough around the edges? Is the actual pin attachment solid?

I ask because those prices for what the stuff is are very good. I've ordered similarly priced pieces only to get them and find out I got exactly what I paid for.

Piece is 925 silver and about 3/32 at the thinnest point. Back is completely smooth. Has a long pin with a clasp fitting that you have to rotate to lock in place. I guess it will bend if I apply too much force, but then my pewter clan crest sword kilt pin does that anyway.

I like the green stone. It would really be set off by a red based kilt. Do they have other colours?

I really want this one from their web site.
It's not a " boatman's whistle", it's a boatswain's pipe, and it's not a "wing", but a keel. Lovely piece; would look great on a traditionally knotted lanyard.
